The Skinny.
The Skinny is an experiment in utilising the footprint of an average extension to the side of a typical Scottish suburban semi-detached house. A granny flat, an annexe, a studio, whatever it wants to be called, it provides maximum architectural value, spacious open plan living and a low cost housing solution for one to two people. This affordable solution makes the most of the space available providing creative solutions for storage and room allowances.
My Involvement
After designing and achieving the requisite permissions I helped to coordinate and oversee trades on site to get the shell built. From this point onwards I aided the self build and once the second fix was complete, I kitted out, furnished and built the kitchen, bathroom, utility and living spaces.
