Pure Dead Wood.

Pure Dead Wood is David Cassels, maker and creator of wooden bowls and items based in Ayrshire. David, known as Cass to his followers has been creating beautiful pieces for the past two years, from his home workshop utilising a second hand Clarkes original lathe and making a lot of his own workshop tools from scratch from tutorials and pieces he’s seen from the internet. He needed a name and logo that represented his Scottish roots and sense of humour, and a social media space from which to advertise his wares.

Brief

Client required a name, logo and photographs for selling his handmade wooden items. The name had to capture the Scottish roots of the maker, and incorporate a sense of humour. The logo then had to be both intricate and detailed, but easily simplified to stamp onto pieces. The photographs are taken with a light background to show off the pieces, and videoed to get the full impact of the colour, finish and size.
